Weekly Article Summary

My article is about a group of students at Hope Christian School in Milwaukee, that were challenged to make an educational video. They made a music video and changed the words of, Beyonce's "Single Ladies". In the video, the lyrics of the song say things like, "scholar ladies" instead of "single ladies", and they also say things about getting a degree and looking forward to graduating.
This article is important because it's showing that kids do care about their futures and things that will effect them. They are trying to influence younger kids by using something that is popular. This is trying to reach an audience of basically any student still in school, or maybe even people who dropped out of school. I think it will effect a large population of people because it's in an "up to date" way to spread the word about it. What is important about this article is, it's young kids who are showing that they care about their education.
My opinion about this article is, I think it's cool, but not very important because plenty of students around the world have had to do projects for things like that but don't get the same publicity. I think this would work better with younger kids, but not really older. I also think the things said in this were very toned down, they didn't say much and when I watched it, it didn't really make me think twice about how I was doing in school.
